| Found more glimpses of him in: "Do This in Memory of Me"- documentary (on YouTube; quality isn't that clear but the camera does manage to focus on him.) Check out all 4 parts. "John Paul II speech against the Mafia in Agrigento" (also on YouTube- Holy Father was very angry. Our Piero looked somewhat frightened.) "John Paul II 'outtakes'" (YouTube- I like the teepee scene, kind of cute ) Sorry if these are a bit old. They're from the late 80's and 90's. Also found more of him in GettyImages. Under "pope john paul united states". Page 15. In one of the pics, he looks drenched and wet and cold (our poor archibishop http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=1&language=en-US&family=images&p=pope%20john%20paul%20united%20states&src=quick#15 | |

| Hi again! I know this is so soon, but I found more pics. (By the way, how do you manage to post pics on this forum? What's weird is that I can't even post them on this forum. I just have to send links.) Do you mind if I post some pics of the Holy Father? (This one is of Pope John Paul wearing one of Bono's sunglasses. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm1.static.flickr.com/25/53605797_a8faa77ab2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.flickr.com/photos/atu2com/53605797/&h=323&w=500&sz=120&hl=en&start=437&tbnid=HHVKDu43FNitlM:&tbnh=84&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpope%2Bjohn%2Bpaul%2Bii%26start%3D432%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26rls%3DHPIA,HPIA:2008-08,HPIA:en%26sa%3DN)Well, actually, I think Holy Father really is wearing Bono's sunglasses. Okay, so back to our Piero. (more links and pics ) http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2003-09/9411231.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.courant.com/news/hc-pope-pg,0,4441075.photogallery&h=400&w=300&sz=30&hl=en&start=447&tbnid=DM5YLhWqqzrrcM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=93&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpope%2Bjohn%2Bpaul%2Bii%26start%3D432%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26rls%3DHPIA,HPIA:2008-08,HPIA:en%26sa%3DNhttp://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2008-04/37674597.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/religion/ny-popevisits-pg,0,4986973.photogallery%3Findex%3D24&h=330&w=500&sz=83&hl=en&start=721&tbnid=BQOTFsFc6gq8QM:&tbnh=86&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpope%2Bjohn%2Bpaul%2Bii%26start%3D720%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26rls%3DHPIA,HPIA:2008-08,HPIA:en%26sa%3DNI seriously found one pic of Piero Marini smiling. Yes, he was actually smiling. And now I can't find it anymore. This really ticks me off. | |

| WOW, what can I say - thanks again For everything............especially a smiling Piero. Yes, it is hard to get pictures like that.......but not impossible. He actually does smile a lot, just not during mass. About posting picures: sadly, you can`t upload images directly to this board. So first you have to store your photos on a publicly accessible web server like here https://servimg.com/. After you have done that, return to the forum and when writing a message, select option Image, then copy or write image url and click Image again – everything without spacing, for every photo separately. Hope that helps. So, how long have you been a fan of "our" archbishop | |

| OOOO! Thank you for the advice. I'll have to try that. I can't believe you have to get onto another server and then save pics just to post stuff onto this forum. That's extra work. Oh well. I'll have to try. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! (If it doesn't work, then I'll Just have to send links.)
To answer your question, I've been a fan for about a month (yes I'm serious. I didn't know about him until a month ago). Let's just say i found out the hard way. I read about the archbishop in one of the reviews on A Challenging Reform. It was by Fr. Z, unfortunately. I was curious as to why a priest would be (forgive me for my language) dissin' about an archbishop. And I didn't even know who the archbishop was. So I did a research. Then that's when I found out who he was. He really is/was the late Holy Father's guardian angel. I pity him because there are people like Fr. Z and a bunch of other jerks saying bad things about him. | |

| Are you all from Europe? I'm looking at all the times I've posted messages and I feel as though it's getting late. It's weird (well, to me its weird because I feel as though I'm waking everyone up at this hour. Where I live the sun is still shining. It's only 5 in the afternoon. I live in California. Yes, I'm American.) | |

| So sorry you have to discover Piero that way. Yes, Fr. Z says things no priest should. But don`t worry, here you are in good company of people who really appreciate Piero and what he does. I like how you called him, he indeed was Pope`s guardian angel.
To answer your question, yes, I think most if not all of us are from Europe, so it is great to have a member from sunny California too.

| Interesting. It's 9 in the morning there. Here, in California, it's about half past midnight. Just got back from my graduation. So now I have to start working on my doctorate. That means 4 more years of university. I'm bored out of my mind right now. But that means I can look for more Piero. (Ironically, I found more. It's so odd how these things just pop up quickly.) On YouTube: "John Paul II- Habemus Papam" - if you look closely (probably a few seconds into the video), the priest holding the microphone for the cardinal to anounce the new pope may just be a younger Piero. "Song for Karol" & "Thank You JPII"- both videos show just how our sweet prince of Piacenza is a guardian angel.(only a few glimpses of Piero ) "Jan Pawel II" by madziara18- another demonstration of Piero the Guardian Angel. He caught John Paul II as the Pope was about to fall. (Watch the whole vid. Video is in Polish.) "Pope John Paul II, Ode to Joy, Central Park NY, NY 10/7/95"- in Central Park, New York "Sue Ann Pinner Sings ILLUMINATION/ Pope John Paul II" - at Dodgers Baseball Stadium in Los Angeles (a younger Piero . Around 1987.) "Pope John Paul II Tribute Part 1 & 2"- also another demonstration of Piero the guardian Angel | |

| Thank you. It's 12 in the afternoon here in California. And it is very HOT!! I feel like I'm in a steam room. I don't even want to go outside because it's too hot right now. I'm running out of ideas. Did you find anymore info or pics about him? Can't find anymore. I've been finding lots of horrible reviews and comments about the archbishop. (They're all from freakin' Fr. Z and those other twits- sorry, but it's true. They're making me mad.) | |

| Well, I`m afraid you`re being over optimistic. More recent information and pictures of Piero are very hard to find, certainly not on daily basis. Sadly. But since you have, in comparison to other members here, quite a lot of catching up to do, I think everything you stumble upon will be more or less new to you so keep searching. | |

| Still looking. I'm trying to find a cute pic of him. It's hard because everyone in this forum may have ssen them already. If I don't respond immediately, I'll be gone for a while. Sorry. My friends just invited me to Kabuki (a Japanese sushi bar) and hang around at the beach. Sorry. I'll try to post when I get back. If you vacation in California, I suggest vacationing in Malibu. It's a beatiful place. It's by the sea. And my university, Pepperdine University, is just right by the beach. So basically, I have a three minute walk from my dormitory to the beach. I think my friends are taking me out to go surfing. (Yes, I know, so typically Californian.) | |
