I found this forum accidentally and I'm very happy and surprised.

Actually I live in Passau/Bavaria. I don's know much about Piero Marini, but he often attracted my attention, when I watched papal masses. But in refer to one of your's further postings, I knew Cardinal Schönborn personally. He's a very nice man.

So again thank's for those wonderful pic's and also for the other's of a "younger piero". Great to watch them.

If you want to learn more about Piero Marini you`ve come to the right place. Unfortunately there are not much news about him at the moment, but if you have any particular questions, just ask and I`m sure forum members will be glad to answer.

And yes, quite a few of us also like Card. Schönborn, so it is great to know you actually know him personally.

Honestly ? I am speechless......

Our Piero is in Mexico at the moment, as a papal legate to the IV. National Eucharistic Congress, which takes place in Morelia. At its conclusion he will preside a mass today at 11.00 local time (so 18.00 for most of the forum members here). Too bad we don`t have any Mexican members that could record the ceremony.

So far I was only able to find these 3 pictures. Let us hope for some more in the next few days.

Again we will be jumping a little back and forth. I have found some more photos of that congress in Mexico, sadly no close ups, but for the impression how it was like (or for playing a game titled "Find Piero" ), I guess it would be sufficient.

Tomorrow at 17.30 Rome time, Piero will preside a mass at the Church of Santa Susanna, an American parish in Rome. According to their website http://www.santasusanna.org/ he will "confirm twenty of our finest, and lively, young men and women in our Religious Education Program”. I hope for some quality photos afterwards.

These two are from the same church, taken on the occasion of 150th anniversary mass, on the 2nd March this year, with Cardinal William Levada presiding.

You have every right to be suspicious, Dangermouse. I`m not sure I`d recognize him in that picture if I find it accidentally either. But since it came from his book “Ceremoniaire des papes” I bought from Amazon, I can assure you it is “the real thing”.
