PostSubject: Pictures from Rome, Churches : San Clemente   Fri Jul 27, 2007 5:35 am

I walked by the way of the lovely atrium of San Clemente into this beautiful Church.
My eyes were immediately directed to the magnificent apse mosaic. The Cross-tree, which is a great vine ,and which branches grow toward everywhere , toward the whole world ! The tree-Cross were our Saviour died to bring us all , the lost humanity, back to God , back to Life .

The Holy Father in his book " Images of Hope " writes that the feast of Corpus Christi is well represented here. The Holy Eucharist being carried on the streets and squares for everyone to adore and see is indeed what Copus Christi is !! the Holy Father writes beautifully.

One can spend hours there, meditating on the meaning of this Vine -Cross and on the humility and greatness of Our Jesus in the Holy Eucharist..
